IOCL Apprentice recruitment notification
Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), one of India’s largest commercial enterprises and a Fortune “Global 500” company, has issued a notification for engagement of apprentices at its refineries across India.
About IOCL Apprentice Recruitment:
IOCL is looking to hire apprentices for its refineries at Guwahati, Digboi, Bongaigaon (Assam), Barauni (Bihar), Vadodara (Gujarat), Haldia (West Bengal), Mathura (UP), Panipat (Haryana) and Paradip (Odisha).
Applications are invited for various designated trades including Trade Apprentices, Technician Apprentices, Secretarial Assistant, Accountant, Data Entry Operator etc.
The apprenticeship will be for a period of 12 months to 36 months based on the trade.
Selected apprentices will receive a stipend as per Apprentices Act norms.
Eligibility Criteria:
- For Trade Apprentice Data Entry Operator (Fresher Apprentices) – Class 12th pass
- For Trade Apprentice Data Entry Operator (Skill Certificate Holders) – Class 12th pass + Skill certificate in ‘Domestic Data Entry Operator’
- For Trade Apprentice (Fitter) – ITI in Fitter trade
- For Technician Apprentice (all disciplines) – 3 years Diploma in relevant branch/specialization
- .Educational Qualifications: Candidates must possess the prescribed educational qualifications (B.Sc, Diploma, ITI etc.) in the relevant discipline/trade. Details are provided in the notification.
- Age Limit: Minimum 18 years and maximum 24 years as on 31-10-2023 for general candidates. Relaxation in upper age limit for reserved categories as per government rules.
- Only regular full-time courses are eligible. Part-time/correspondence courses not allowed.
- Candidates should not have undergone Apprenticeship Training earlier or pursuing Apprenticeship Training currently.
- Candidates with higher qualifications like BE/BTech, MBA, CA etc. are not eligible.
Selection Criteria:
- Based on performance in the written test. Minimum 40% qualifying marks in written test (35% for reserved categories).
- Final merit list based on marks obtained in written test, number of seats, eligibility criteria and document verification.
- In case of tie in marks, candidate senior in age will be ranked higher.
- Reservation for SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PWBD as per government rules.
- PWBD candidates availing only age relaxation will be considered against unreserved seats.
- Medical fitness as per standards required for apprenticeship.

Candidates need to visit www.iocl.com and apply online by providing all details accurately as per the notification. The online application process involves registering, choosing refinery location, uploading documents and submitting the form.

- Go to ‘What’s New’ and click on ‘Engagement of Apprentices under Refineries Division’
- Click on ‘Detailed Advertisement’ and read all details carefully
- Click on ‘Click here to Apply Online’ to start the online application process
- Choose the refinery location you want to apply for
- Fill the online application form carefully with all required details
- Upload scanned photo and signature in specified size and format
- Cross-check all details entered before submitting the form
- Submit the online application and keep a copy for future reference
- Once submitted, no changes can be made in the online application
- Application fee is not required.
- Check website regularly for admit card, written test details, results etc.
