WiFi File Manager (“we”, “our”, or “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how our application handles your data when you use our wireless file transfer and management service.
2. Local Network Operation (No Internet Required)
Zero Cloud Storage: WiFi File Manager operates entirely on your local Wi-Fi / Local Area Network (LAN). None of your files, personal data, or usage logs are uploaded to external servers, cloud storage, or third-party databases.
Local HTTP Server: The web server runs directly on your device. Only devices connected to the same Wi-Fi network with your permission (and credentials/password if configured) can access shared files.
3. Permissions Used & Why
To provide seamless local file sharing, WiFi File Manager requests the following system permissions:
Storage Access (`READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE` / `MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE` / `READ_MEDIA_`): Required exclusively to display your files and allow download/upload transfers through the web interface.
Wi-Fi & Network State (`ACCESS_WIFI_STATE`, `ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE`, `CHANGE_WIFI_MULTICAST_STATE`): Used to detect your local IP address and Wi-Fi status so other devices on the same network can connect.
Foreground Service & Wake Lock (`FOREGROUND_SERVICE`, `WAKE_LOCK`): Keeps the local server active during large file transfers when your screen is locked or turned off.
Notifications (`POST_NOTIFICATIONS`): Displays a persistent notification showing current server status and active transfer links.
4. Data Collection & Analytics
– We DO NOT collect, store, share, or monetize any personal information, browsing history, file contents, or device identifiers.
– All file transactions occur locally between your smartphone and the connected browser.
5. Security
– We provide password protection for file management/deletion actions.
– You can change the HTTP port and server security settings at any time within the app settings.
– Never share your local IP address or security password with untrusted users on public Wi-Fi networks.
